Overview
Carol Hazelton (Dip. Couns. Registered member MBACP. (Accred) Cert. Prof Supervision Cert.Ed.). Carol has worked as a Professional Counsellor in various settings; Relate, the Margaret Jackson Centre, Devon RD & E Occupational Health Dept. GP surgeries and with several different Employment Assistant Programmes.
Carol worked for Exeter College for eight years, delivering counselling courses up to Level 4 Diploma. She has also developed and delivered training courses for the Margaret Jackson Centre, The Rape and Sexual Abuse Line (RSAL), Exeter Women’s Aid and other professional counselling agencies.
This workshop is designed to introduce skills for time limited or brief therapy. It would be useful for practitioners who work within a brief contract, such as; Counsellors working in GP practices, Counsellors affiliated to Employment Assistant Programmes (EAP) or those who intend to work within a primary health care setting. The workshop will introduce practise in the following areas:
- The process of time limited way of working
- Assessing the client
- Solution focussed questioning
- Initiating change
- Brief therapy interventions and tools
- Limitations
- Ending brief therapy
