Working with Trauma Through the Lens of CBT

Date: Tuesday 12th and 19th March 2024 – 6.00pm – 9pm

The course will help you to identify and work with clients distorted beliefs and perceptions so that they can gain a more accurate here and now perception of their present moment.

Overview

CBT explores the way we think and how our thoughts impact on our feelings and behaviour.  In this course we will look at CBT theory and use it as a lens to understand what happens to the mind and thinking because of trauma.

We will pay particular attention to core beliefs and the thoughts that come from these along with perception which can so often be inaccurate and lead to great suffering and is a contributing factor to mental health problems.  The course will explore how CBT can be used in a Person Centred and relational way, rather than in a clinical way.

The course will help you to identify and work with clients distorted beliefs and perceptions so that they can gain a more accurate here and now perception of their present moment.
